Loreal Made for Me Pinks Collection Lipsticks

Today I have a review of some of the lipsticks from the new Loreal Made for Me Pinks collection.

I reviewed these on my YouTube channel as well, so if you haven't watched that video yet, check it out here!

I hunted for these for a couple of weeks and finally found them at my local Walgreens. I was so excited to find them! There are 8 lipstick shades in the collection,  and the idea is that there are certain items (lipsticks and glosses) for each skin tone. Being the rebel that I am (not at all! ;-)) I didn't follow those rules. I just chose the shades I liked! :-)  I picked up 4 shades: I Pink You're Cute, Pink Flamingo, Miss Magenta, and Raspberry Rush.

The formula of these lipsticks is very nice. They're creamy and smooth, and they have a sort of shiny creme finish. Now, onto swatches!

Left to right: I Pink You're Cute, Pink Flamingo, Miss Magenta, Raspberry Rush

As you can see from the swatches above, all of the shades are beautiful! I Pink You're Cute is coming off a little more peachy in the swatch above. In person it is more of a light peachy pink. It's definitely one of my favorites!

The surprising standout from the bunch for me was Raspberry Rush. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about that one, but once I swatched and wore it, I was in love!! It's a beautiful watermelony, pinky red. Gorgeous!!

The Loreal Made for Me Pinks collection is popping up in different drugstores, so keep your eye out for them! They retailed for around $9.50 at my Walgreens, but prices may vary where you live. I highly recommend picking up a couple of them! I think you'll be happy!

Review: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lust (Tropical Taboo collection)

Today I'm reviewing the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish that I picked up from the Tropical Taboo summer collection. MAC describes their Mineralize skinfinish as "a luxurious, velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish".

I own several other MAC MSF's - Soft and Gentle, and then Whisper of Gilt and Glorify (that I use as an eyeshadow) from the old In Extra Dimension collection that came out a year or two ago.  I love all of the ones I own! I do, however, have mixed feelings about MAC MSFs. They are very hit or miss for me and really just depend on the color.  Sometimes I find that they fall in the "strange zone", where it's slightly too dark to be a highlight but slightly too light to be a blush.  For me, it really just takes swatching it in person to see if it works for my skintone.  But as I said, I am very pleased with the ones I currently own!

Now onto Lust!

MAC describes Lust as a "pale pink with cranberry pearl". I think that's an accurate description. At first it did not look impressive to me, but when the MA at MAC applied it to my cheeks, I fell in love! It gives such a glowy, slightly sunkissed pinky cheek!

Heavy swatch on left. Applied with a brush on the right.

The picture above truly doesn't do it justice. You need to swatch it for yourself in person to enjoy the beautiful pinky shimmer that appears in the light. It's beautiful!

If you're looking for a glowy pinky cheek this summer, Lust may be for you. MAC MSFs are sold on the MAC website and other MAC retailers. Lust retails for $29.00. If you're interested in picking it up, you'll want to run, not walk, to your MAC counter as this is part of the limited summer collection and is sold and/or selling out quickly!

Review: MAC Mineralized Blush in Simmer (Tropical Taboo collection)

For my first ever blog post, I'm reviewing and swatching one of the MAC Mineralized Blushes from the Tropical Taboo summer collection...quite appropriately as I am borderline a MAC addict. I try so hard to not give into the hype and follow all of the new collections, but I almost always do!

I tried to resist purchasing anything from the collection, but after seeing some of my favorite YT beauty gurus talking about and swatching some of the goodies, I decided to pick up the mineralized blush in Simmer and the mineralized skin finish in Lust. And I have to say, I'm in love with both!

Up first on this post is Simmer. MAC describes Simmer as a "burnt rose with peach/gold pearl". In a nutshell, it's beautiful!

It has a lovely peachy gold side and then a darker shimmery maroon.  Together they make a pinky coral with such a beautiful golden sheen. Love it!!

Left to right: peachy golden side, dark maroon side, light swatch mixed together, heavier swatch mixed together.

Simmer can be purchased for $25.00 on the MAC website or other retailers such as Nordstrom or Dillard's. If you're looking for a summery, peachy coral blush, Simmer is a great choice. It's part of the limited edition Tropical Taboo collection, so you'll want to hurry and grab it if you're interested! I personally am really glad I caved! ;-)

XOXO, Leslie
