Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Set: First Impressions and Review

Today I have a first impressions and review on one of the Too Faced limited edition holiday sets, called A Few of My Favorite Things. After falling completely head over heels in love with (a bit dramatic but fairly true) the Pretty Rebel palette, I really took a closer look at Too Faced's holiday sets this year. In the past, they haven't interested me at all, but I figured I'd give them a try now!

I had a return for Sephora, so I applied that to the $56 price tag that comes with this palette. It is said to be exclusive to Sephora.

The packaging is very sleek and adorable, with its pink chevron pattern. Darling!

My iPad had a terrible time with capturing the bag. It's gold and pink. The camera just wanted to reflect that bright gold! It's a nice rubbery textured bag. Very nice quality!

Inside the bag you find a full size Lip Injection Color Bomb lip product, deluxe sample size of the Better Than Sex mascara, and the palette itself.

I haven't tried the mascara yet, but I've heard good things! I will make an annotation of my review once I've tried of out! I like the brush at first glance! I tried the lip product briefly on my lips, and the reviews I have already read are right....this doesn't feel good! It isn't unbearable, but the tiny needle sensation it gives the lips just isn't pleasant, so I won't be reaching for this product regularly or even any time soon. The color is a very neutral, sheer pinky nude color.

The palette features 20 eyeshadows that are 1.6 oz each. Great value there! There are 5 mattes, 14 shimmery shades, and one that seems to be more satiny matte. Now onto the swatches. They almost speak for themselves!

Left to right: Snowflakes, Whiskers on Kittens, Chocolate Milk, Moon on Their Wings, and Dark Chocolate

Left to right: Cream Colored Ponies, Honey Honey, Buche de Noel, Evergreen, and Blue Satin Sashes

Left to right: Coquet, Taffy, Crisp Apple Strudel, Woolen Mittens, and Soirée

Left to right: Tinsel, Bluff, Ooh la Orchid, Party Time, and Pure Glam

As you can see from the swatches, the eyeshadow quality is a mixed bag. Some shades are really amazingly pigmented and buttery (such as Honey Honey, Crisp Apple Strudel, Tinsel), and some are just downright cruddy (Ooh la Orchid, Party Time, Whiskers on Kittens). Party Time was probably the biggest disappointment because it's GORGEOUS looking in the pan! But swatched...where did that beautiful, vibrant color go??

I will be trying out these shadows in the next few days to see how they perform on the eyes! I'll make an annotation somewhere once I try them out!

The set also comes with two blushes, one shimmery bronzer, and one matte bronzer. These perform really well! I'm excited to try these out on the face! :-)

Left to right: Raindrops on Roses, Chocolate Soleil, Melt into Spring, Sun Bunny bronzer.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about this set. It doesn't blow me away from initial swatching, but I'll be interested to see how they perform on the face. As I said, I'll make annotations once I've tried them out more, but hopefully this post will give you some initial swatches so you can decide if you'd like to purchase it or not!

As said earlier, this can be purchased at Sephora for $56.
