Loreal Pure Reds - Blake & Zoe: Review & Swatches

So.... Yeah. I really like this Pure Reds collection from Loreal. I first bought Freida and Eva (that I did a post on a few days ago), and I liked them so much that I went back for Blake...and ended up getting Zoe too on that trip! :) I found all of these at Walgreens and they retail for $8.99 each.

Blake is a gorgeous, classic, blue-based red. Zoe is a lovely wine red. This one would be especially gorgeous in the fall and winter! These are beautifully packaged, pigmented, creamy, comfortable, and long-wearing. All in all, these lipsticks are a TOTAL win in my book! (Other than the yucky Loreal lipstick scent. Please drop that scent, Loreal!)

So here are some swatches of Blake and Zoe and a comparison between those and Freida and Eva.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Contouring Palette: Review & Swatches

I'd heard buzz about the new Wet N Wild Color Icon Contouring Palette, so I was excited when I spotted it at Walmart for $3.93. And this palette is actually exclusive to Walmart only.

The packaging is typical for Wet N Wild. It's plastic and nothing special, but if it helps to keep the price low, I don't mind!

As far as the pigmentation and performance of these powders, they're pretty light. So this palette would probably be best suited for light to medium skintones. They feel smooth and are easy to work with, but they also aren't the most luxurious contouring and highlighting powders I've ever used. Both are matte and contain no shimmer, so they're great, staple contour and highlighting powders.

I think for $3.93, this is a nice little contouring palette! But as mentioned earlier, it would probably work best for light to medium skintones. Have you seen this palette or picked it up?

Revlon Sahara Escape Collection Glosses: Review & Swatches

I spotted the new Revlon spring 2015 collection, Sahara Escape, recently at Walgreens. Nothing really stood out to me, other than the glosses in the collection. There was a dark, warm red gloss, a very light, milky pink, and the two colors I picked up.  These retailed for $8.29 each but were buy one, get one half off when I bought them.

Sandstorm is pretty much a clear gloss with some glitter suspended in it. I could see it being a fun, glittery topper, but other than that, there's not much to it. Solar Coral is a beautiful bright, creamy coral. I think this shade is perfect for spring!

Swatches left to right: Sandstorm, Solar Coral

I think these glosses are nice, but I wouldn't say either one is a must have. While I like Solar Coral a lot, I think you could find similar colors from other brands.  I'm still really loving all of these warm, Sahara collections coming out from different brands lately! Are you getting anything from the Revlon Sahara Escape collection?

Sonia Kashuk LE Sahara Sunset Highlighter Arabian Dreams: Review & Swatches

After loving Nirvana from the Sonia Kashuk limited edition spring 2015 collection, Sahara Sunset, I had to go back and grab the highligher. Something about the peachy look to it intrigued me.

This highlighter retails for $19.99, and I bought it at Target. It's definitely a heftier price tag, but the packaging feels nice and looks fancy, so it has an all around high end feel to it!

The packaging is just gorgeous. It has a warm desert or Egyptian feel to it. I love it!

The color of this highlight is interesting. On deeper skintones, I think this would make a gorgeous peachy highlight. But on my fair complexion, this is a bronzey, orange highlighting blush.
Swatches left to right: far left vertical, second from left vertical, middle vertical, middle circle, all shades swirled together

It's a little hard for me to pull off this highlighter because it's so warm. But for some reason, I still like it, and I'm not exactly sure why. Ha! I think maybe because it's just something out of the norm and just different? And as a makeup lover, I'm always looking for something unique!

Have you grabbed anything from the Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset collection?

Sonia Kashuk LE Sahara Sunset Collection Shine Luxe Sheer Lip Colour in Eden: Review & Swatches

I was in Target the other night and spotted the new Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Collection, which I believe is her spring line. I was a good girl (that time) and didn't pick anything up. But after hearing some reviews, I decided to go back and pick just one thing. :) I love her Shine Luxe Sheer Lip Colours so I grabbed the color Eden from the collection.

First off, the packaging is absolutely stunning on this lipstick. It is heavy, nice quality, and I love the desert, almost Egypian feel to it. These retail for $12.99.

Eden is a gorgeous true coral shade. It can either be applied lightly for a glossy, sheer look, or layered for a more pigmented (but still high shine) look. For the swatch below, I layered it several times, since that's how I usually wear these lip colors.

The formula on these is great. They're creamy and comfortable and look so glossy and gorgeous on the lips. The only negative would be that they don't wear very long, but I think that's kind of to be expected for this type of lip product.

I'm so happy that I got Eden! I know I'll be grabbing for this lip color a lot this spring!

Loreal Pure Red Collection - Freida & Eva: Review & Swatches

Loreal has another new collection in their lipstick line. This is fun collection of various reds from the different celebrities that they also teamed up with for their nudes line.

The packaging is luxurious and sturdy feeling. These retailed for $8.99 at Walgreens and were buy one, get one half off when I bought mine.
Left to right: Freida Pure Red, Eva Pure Red

I went with the two non-traditional reds in the collection, Freida Pure Red (a bright, just barely reddish fuchsia) and Eva Pure Red (a warm, brownish brick red).

Swatches left to right: Freida Pure Red, Eva Pure Red

I love both of them! They're creamy, pigmented, opaque, and a comfortable formula to wear. I'm really enjoying these lipsticks, and I think they rival any high end lipsticks (other than the yucky Loreal lipstick scent that these do still have!) Have you grabbed any of the reds from the Loreal Pure Reds collection?

New Pacifica Power of Love Natural Lipstick: Swatches & Review

Pacifica is a brand I've wanted to delve into more, because I love the idea of more natural ingredients! DontCallMeJesse on Instagram inspires A LOT of my lip product purchases. (She's a lipstick junkie with perfect lips who posts swatches of lots of gorgeous lip products!) And this purchase was no different!

These are brand new lipsticks from the Pacifica line called the Power of Love Natural Lipstick. I grabbed the colors Nudie Red and Compassion Passion. They were $9.99 each, which seems a little pricey, but I'm always willing to spend a little more on products with more natural ingredients. (These are 100% vegan and formulated without FD&C color, parabens, carmine, and petroleum. They're also cruelty free which is another added bonus. AND the box says "Buy One. Give One. Each Power of Love lipstick purchased = one free
lipstick to a woman in need." Very cool!)

The packaging on these is just adorable. It's girly with a vintage vibe to it.

Both of these swatch beautifully. They're both very pigmented and build up nicely. Nudie Red isn't a red at all, but a more mauvey pink. Compassion Passion is a gorgeous coral shade - perfect for spring!

Swatches left to right: Nudie Red, Compassion Passion

On the lips, these feel amazing! They're soo creamy and comfortable! And bonus - they have a creamy, natural coconut scent to them! I am absolutely in LOVE with these lipsticks. I know they have one more color, because Jess posted about that one on her Instagram. It's called Super Love and is a gorgeous bright red. Those were sold out, but I would love to pick that one up at some point!

Have you tried these lipsticks yet?

Dupe Alert! Hard Candy Natural Eyes Neutral Eyeshadow Palette: Review & Swatches

I could not WAIT to write this blog post! Because in a nutshell...I've got an amazing dupe coming your way in this post! So recently I posted a review video on my YouTube channel and also did a blog post on some of the new goodies from Hard Candy that I recently picked up. I had grabbed the Smokey Eyes palette and really enjoyed it, so I decided to also grab the Natural Eyes Neutral Eyeshadow Palette as well. Boy am I glad I did. Because it's a fantastic dupe for the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette!

The packaging is absolutely adorable. It's a tin container that has a girly, vintage vibe to it. I love it! It has a magnetic closure, but the magnet isn't super strong, so I'd suggest packing this palette with care if you're going to travel with it.

It comes with an eyeshadow primer and black eyeliner (both of which I really like!) and a two-sided sponge tip applicator. It also comes with a little booklet with some looks in it (very Too Faced palette-esque!)

All of the shadows in this palette swatch REALLY well. And they look extremely close to the shadows in the Natural Eyes palette from Too Faced.

The third shade in the Hard Candy palette is a little cooler and has a little bit more of a golden sheen to it.

Bottom row of both palettes:

The middle shade differs the most here, the Too Faced shadow is much more of a light, true gold, while the Hard Candy shade is a much more coppery orange side of gold. The third shade also differs some. The Hard Candy shade has a lot more warmth to it than the Too Faced shadow. But both are beautiful!

This palette is a GREAT find in my opinion. If you've been eyeing the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette but just weren't ready to shell out the $36 that it costs, this palette is an awesome alternative at less than a quarter of the price!! This palette retails for $8 and can be purchased at Walmart.

NEW Drugstore Line - Circa Beauty: Review & Swatches

There's big news in the drugstore world! There are two new makeup brands that just popped up in Walgreens - Colour PrevailS & Circa Beauty. Both of these lines are marketed as being prestige quality cosmetics at more affordable prices. My sweet friend Ashley (txmommyofboys on YouTube) did a great GRWM and review on some products from the Colour Prevails line, so I decided to grab some goodies from the Circa line. Circa Beauty is Eva Mendes' line. I decided to go with one of the Color Focus Eye Shadow Palettes ($12), a Picture Perfect Powder Blush ($12), a Color Absolute Velvet Luxe Lipstick ($10), and a Color Saturated Lip Crayon ($10).

First off, the packaging for this line LOOKS nice, but when I started opening them and really using them, they feel a little cheap to me..especially the lipstick. And for the price point on these products, that's a little bit of a disappointment.

I want to first show you the eyeshadows and blush, because I'm excited about (and impressed!) with these. They both swatch really nicely, are very pigmented, and have a nice, buttery texture. These are nice! But that price point... I just wish they were closer to $8 or even $10. $12 for 3 eyeshadows just seems high!

And now for the lip products. They both swatch really nicely, but I don't know if they blow me away for $10 each...mainly the lip crayon. If they we're $6 - $7 each, I'd be all about them! Also, they have a strong floral scent that I'm really not a fan of. And the scent does linger on the lips, more so on the lip crayon. I can also even taste a little fragrance or something. Yuck.

The texture on the Color Absolute Velvet Luxe Lipstick is soft and creamy, but it takes a bit of building to get full pigmentation. It has a soft matte finish to it. On the lips, it feels very soft, creamy, and comfortable.  And I love, love this color! I might consider picking up another one of these, but might wait and see if they go on sale at some point.

The Color Saturated Lip Crayon has a thicker, almost tacky feeling to it. It's not very comfortable on the lips because of the thicker formula. This color is really gorgeous though!

With swatching, my first impressions on this line are that it's nice, but I don't think I'll be picking up many more items from this line because of the higher price points. I just don't see as big of a difference in the quality (and definitely not the packaging) to merit the higher prices. And because it's a new line, I don't yet have brand loyalty to it, so $10 - $12 per product (and not on sale!) is just a little hard to jump on board with. Everything DOES swatch beautifully, though, so maybe as I use these products more (and with future sales, hopefully!), I'll begin to really enjoy this line more!

Keep an eye out on my YouTube channel for a more in-depth review after I've tried all these products on the face!

Wet N Wild Fergie 10 Pan Palettes: Review & Swatches

Happy dance for new drugstore makeup!! Recently, Wet N Wild Fergie released 2 new 10 pan eyeshadow palettes, Milano Collections and Paris Runway. It took me a while to find these. They never popped up in the limited edition end cap displays in my Walgreens. But I finally found them in the permanent display in our area. So I snagged them both!

The packaging on these is the same as other Wet N Wild Fergie products. It's not the fanciest or the nicest quality, but the price is right, so that doesn't bother me at all. These retail for $7.99 each, which I think is a great price for the number of shadows you get.

Milano Collections

Paris Runway

Milani Collections is a nice, warm-toned neutral palette. Paris Runway is a pretty, cool-toned taupe and purple palette. Both of them swatch nicely. Surprisingly, I felt like the standouts from these palettes are the matte shadows, which is more of a rarity for drugstore makeup. The mattes all swatch so nicely and have great pigmentation! The shimmers and metallics are nice too, but they're not the most pigmented ones I've seen in this finish from the drusgtore. The eyeshadows from the regular Wet N Wild line or the Loreal Infallibles definitely pack more of a punch.

My personal favorite is Milano Collections, just because neutrals are my most-worn shadows. I think these are great for the price and make for great do-it-all palettes or also companion palettes.
