Colourpop Lippie Stix Sheers: Swatches & Review

Colourpop just keeps the new releases coming! The latest release are their Lippie Stix Sheers.  These are $5 each and can be purchased on the Colourpop website.  There are 8 different shades in this formula, as of right now, and I picked up 6 of them.

The packaging is the same as the other Colourpop Lippie Stix.  Cute, simple, functional!

Top to bottom: Crunch, Safari, Kiddo, Whip, Peacocky, Tiger

I am so in love with the formula on these.  They have the same comfortable feeling on the lips as the other Lippie Stix, same yummy vanilla candy scent, and they give a really nice sheer color to the lips.  But they aren't crazy sheer.  They're really more of a glossy lipstick that are just slightly more sheer than a traditional cream lipstick.  They remind me a lot of the look of the Revlon Lip Butters.

Swatches left to right: Crunch, Safari, Kiddo, Whip, Peacocky, Tiger

I'm really really enjoying these! My personal favorite shades are Crunch, Whip, and Peacocky, but I'm happy with all of the shades I picked! They're a perfect, easy go-to lip option for any time of year!

Wet n Wild Fergie LE Centerstage Collection: Big Girls Don't Shy Away From Color - Review & Swatches

I came across a limited edition Wet N Wild Fergie Centerstage collection at Walgreens the other day. I'm not sure what the actual name of the collection is, but the display said, "Big Girls Don't Shy Away from Color." On the display I saw, there were colored mascaras and two eyeshadow palettes. I grabbed the 2 palettes which were $5.29 each (but buy one get one 50% off when I got them.)

Left to right: 34735 in Full Bloom, 34736 After Midnight

Swatches 34735 in Full Bloom

Swatches 34736 After Midnight

These are both SUPER glittery. It was difficult to build up the color to what you see in the swatches. They were mostly all glitter, especially in Full Bloom. Of the two, After Midnight is my favorite, since you could probably get some kind of workable smokey eye out of it. But overall, I wouldn't really recommend these, unless you're looking for glittery shades like these.

Beauty Junkees Affordable Brush Review

If you're an affordable brush fan, you should definitely check out Beauty Junkees brushes. They recently sent some to me to try out, and I'm very impressed with the quality! These are very comparable to both Sedona Lace and Sigma brushes.

First, I received the 5 pc Large Kabuki Set which retails for $39.97 on Amazon  (I have some coupon codes listed at the end of this blog post for you guys!) The set includes 5 different kabukis and also a travel makeup tube, which is also really nice quality. All of the kabukis are sturdy, soft, and perform really nicely. I would definitely recommend this set!

Next, I received the Pro Series Eye Brush Set which retails for $39.97 on Amazon  (Again - coupons below!) This set includes every brush you would need to do a complete eye look. Also, you receive a makeup bag...which incidentally has an adorable satin pink lining. Love it! Again, these brushes are all really nice quality for the price.

Overall, I really recommend Beauty Junkees for affordable makeup brushes. These aren't going to be Hakuhodo or Wayne Goss quality brushes, but they're also a fraction of the price of those. They're well made and get the job done. That's just what I'm looking for in brushes!

They were kind enough to send me some coupon codes for you guys to use! Here they are:

 - For $10.00 off Either the 8 pc eye set or the 5 pc large kabuki brush set use Code: LESLIE10

 - For 25% off any 1 individual eye brush or large kabuki brush, use Code: LESLIE25

Coupon details: Expires 12/31/15; 1 Redemption per customer

BH Cosmetics Wild & Radiant Baked Illuminating & Bronzing Palette: Swatches & Review

BH Cosmetics always sucks me in when they have a great sale. So with one of those great sales recently, I purchased the Wild & Radiant Baked Illuminating & Bronzing Palette. It varies in price, but it was $8 when I purchased it. I'm all about the highlight for summer, so I was excited to get this!

The packaging is adorable, as is usual with BH palette. They always have a cute theme to them. It's made of cardboard so it's not overly sturdy, but it's just fine for such a great price point.

Wild & Radiant Baked Illuminating & Bronzing Palette

The palette includes 2 glowy bronzers and 2 highlighters. The bronzers are both very warm-toned, which is great for summer. But just be aware of that if you're considering purchasing this palette.

All of the powders swatch really nicely. They feel like other baked products from BH. They're a bit chalky feeling, but they perform nicely on the skin.

I'm a fan of BH's products in general, but I especially like their baked products. This one is just perfect for that glowy look for summer!

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick Shades: Swatches & Review

I had some CVS Extra Care Bucks burning a hole in my pocket, so I stopped by there the other day. And I came across the display for the new shades of the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks! So I grabbed a few. :)

The packaging on these is the same as their other Moisture Renew Lipsticks. It's a pretty purple container with a slanted lid. I like it!
Left to right: 410 Dashing Raspberry, 680 Hot Lips, 710 First Class Nude, 730 Nude and the City

I really enjoy all of the shades I grabbed. My favorite is definitely Nude and the City. It's a really nice, slightly brown-toned nude.

Swatched left to right: 410 Dashing Raspberry, 680 Hot Lips, 710 First Class Nude, 730 Nude and the City

As you might be able to tell in the swatches, this is a really really REALLY creamy formula of lipstick. It almost feels like a lipstick you've left out in your car in the hot sun. It's just super soft. It's very comfortable on the lips! I think it's just going to be super important to wear a lip liner with the darker, brighter shades, because these are probably going to move around quite a bit on the lips.

And these do have the same perfumey scent as the other Rimmel Moisture Renew lipsticks. I'm definitely not a fan of it, but it's not so horrible that I won't wear them. I still really like how creamy and comfortable these feel on the lips!

The Cutest 4th of July Package Ever from Merle Norman

It's the fun surprises that can sometimes make your whole day. When I opened this package from Merle Norman, I definitely said a big "Awww," out loud, because it was just so darn cute.

And did you notice in the picture... There were cake pops in the box. 4th of July cake pops! Yes, ma'am. (And they were delicious, in case you were wondering!)

Yummy Cake Pops

4th of July is one of those holidays where you can really have fun with your makeup. I love pairing a fun, blue eyeliner with a bright red lip. When else does that work?

They first sent me the Creamy Flo-Matic Mascara ($14) and Mascara Primer ($14). I'm excited to try both of these! I'll definitely keep you posted on my thoughts!

Next, there are the eyeshadows that retail for $12 each. I received Ice and Sky, both of which are a semi-matte finish. They're soft and subtle - perfect for pairing with a blue liner and red lip!

I love this Soft Touch Eye Pencil in Royalty ($14). I've tried this liner from their line in black and really liked it. It's soft and creamy, but it's also long lasting. And Royalty is a perfect navy blue that can be applied in a strong line like I show on the right in the swatch below, or smudged out like on the right.

And then finally, my favorite item in the whole box - this amazing Age-Defying + Lipcolor in Americana ($15). The packaging is heavy feeling and fancy looking, and it has a yummy subtle vanilla scent to it. And this color...oh my. This color! Talk about a perfect classic red lip! And bonus - it's a comfortable, creamy formula. Love this lipstick!

I'm really loving this little 4th of July goodie box. I'll definitely be rocking some (if not all) of these products while I'm chowing down on some yummy 4th of July hamburgers!
